Direct to garment T-shirt printing

This project explores the full process of creating a graphic for direct-to-garment (DTG) printing; beginning with rough ideation sketches and finishing with a T-shirt print as a finished product.

The design

Part 1: Coming up with the design

The project began with an initial concept sketch. This stage focused on translating the idea onto paper before moving into digital refinement.

The digital design

Part 2: Translating it to Illustrator

The sketch was recreated as a vector illustration in Adobe Illustrator. This step involved refining line work, selecting colors, and preparing the artwork for the print.

Part 3: The Final Result

The finished vector design was printed directly onto a polyester T-shirt using the DTG process. This final print showcases how the digital artwork translates to fabric, including color vibrancy, detail retention, and material interaction.
